Affiliate Disclosure
The short version: some of the links on The Male Ledger are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes the price you pay, and it never changes what I write.
How it works
The Male Ledger is a free website. Writing and researching supplements costs money and time, so the site is funded by affiliate commissions. When I link to a product I have reviewed, that link is usually "tagged" to my account. If you use it to make a purchase, the retailer pays me a percentage of the sale.
You will always see a note like "this is an affiliate link" near those links, and every review and comparison page carries this disclosure at the top.
What this does not mean
- It does not mean I recommend a product because it pays a commission. Plenty of products I could earn from are not recommended here, and I say so plainly.
- It does not mean the review is positive. I point out what is weak about every product I cover, including the ones I link to.
- It does not cost you anything. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your wallet.
Why I tell you this
Because the law requires it (the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the UK Advertising Standards Authority both require clear disclosure of paid relationships), and because you deserve to know how a website you are taking health information from pays its bills.
